Step 1 - Eyedropper. Eyedropper! Eyedropper Tool! HOOOE!
Even the Photoshop beginner should know that the Eyedropper Tool can color pick from any pixel in your file. The shortcut for this helpful guy is [I].


What some may not know, is that if you're painting with a brush you can quick swap to the Eyedropper by holding ALT. Select your color and release ALT and you're back in the action.
