Step 2 -
Create a new layer.

Change the foreground colour to a grey which is darker than the background.

Now, with the pencil tool, draw a vertical line and position it in the centre of the page.

Now change the foreground colour to a grey which is lighter than the background.

Once again, draw another vertical line on a new layer, and position this to the side of the first line.
