Step 6 -
We need to remove some of the grey smudges around the walls, in order to make it plainer, “black and white”.

Duplicate the layer you are working on.

Select the new layer and set the blending mode to screen.

Repeat the previous step.

You should now have 3 black and white layers, the top 2 set to screen in the blending mode.
