Step 2 - Texture, Selections and the Gradient
You'll also need to find a metal texture like the one here. It's good if there's a range of value in the tones from light to dark. Mine was pretty flat in contrast so I added a new layer and a black gradient with the color to transparent option chosen with the gradient tool.





On a new layer above the metal texture, set the marquee selection tool to elliptical and set the option to fixed aspect ratio. It should create perfect circles now. In this circle selection create a gradient with a dark gray background color to a light gray foreground color. Don't deselect the circle selection just yet. We're going to use it in the next upcoming steps.
