Step 2 - Base Tones and Volume
Next, apply some base tones that separate the shapes you'll be painting on new layers. Here I've chosen only 2 colors.





A general rule of thumb I follow is: when making hard thin lines, adjust your brush opacity and flow to over 50% to 80. And when doing wide soft painting with thick brushes I go under 50% to 30. I've chosen a wide thick paintbrush around 30% opacicty/flow to paint on a new layer above the flat colors. Now we've begun to see some volume.
