Step 5 -
Create a new layer, and make a selection with the rectangular marquee tool. Now, make your forground colour (In this case, a very dark blue) darker than your canvas colour and choose the gradient tool from your pallete.
Then simply drag inside the selection in order to create a gradient like I have done so.
Once yours look like mine, press Ctrl + D to deselect the selection.
Now, press Ctrl + F, as this will duplicate the Motion Blur effect that we used last on the white rectangle.
You can now place this gradient on the right edge of the white rectangle.
